This is our story

Day 5 outdoors is a company that is based on the foundation of fishing, back to the day they were created.

From a very young age, Day 5 Outdoors founder James Franklin has had a love of fishing. Ask anyone who knows him, and they will say that he would fish all day long if he could. As a bachelor, he would go fishing every Friday night after work; he’d fish until the sun came up. When he met his wife, Mandi, he knew it was love when she would go fishing just to spend time with him. Even if the boat motor was broken, he’d use the paddles, just to get to fish.

In 2016, James, Mandi and their kids were getting ready for church and the water was calling. James’s family priorities meant that he would not skip church to go fishing. He told his wife, “God First. Then we fish.” And Day 5 Outdoors was born.

On Day 5, God created the birds of the air and the fish of the sea (Genesis 1:20). The outdoors was made on that day, and we continue to enjoy the beauty of His handiwork.
